Which vehicle tracking solution is right for you?
When selecting a vehicle tracker, consider the following key factors to ensure you choose the right one for your needs:
1. Type of Tracker
Fleet / Asset Trackers: These provide live tracking data, which can be accessed via a smartphone app or web interface. Ideal for those needing immediate information about their vehicle's location and driving behaviour. These are not Thatcham insurance approved.
Insurance Approved Trackers: S5/S5+An advanced tracking solution providing 24/7/365 theft monitoring, Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR), optional no tag no start / remote immobilisation, smartphone app and theft alerts.
Battery powered Trackers: Best suited for plant & machinery, trailers, caravans, classic cars & many more non-powered assets. up to 3yr battery life, daily reporting, geofencing and smartphone app.
2. Features
Geofencing: Allows you to create virtual boundaries. You receive alerts when the vehicle enters or exits these zones.
Speed Alerts: Notify you if the vehicle exceeds a set speed, useful for monitoring teenage drivers or company vehicles.
Historical Data: Offers a log of past locations and routes taken, beneficial for fleet analysis and cost management.
Smartphone App: live tracking and push notifications for both Apple and Android devices.
3. Price and Subscription Fees
Evaluate the initial cost versus the ongoing subscription fees for accessing tracking services. Some trackers may have low upfront costs but high monthly fees. Determine your budget and choose accordingly to avoid unexpected expenses. Generally a Fleet tracker is the cheapest all round but is only self monitoring. S5+ is the most expensive but offers the highest level of security.
4. Installation
Consider whether you prefer a DIY installation or professional assistance. Battery powered trackers are generally easier to install, while hardwired trackers may require professional help.
5. User Reviews and Ratings
Finally, research user reviews and ratings. Feedback from current users can provide valuable insights on the performance, reliability, and overall satisfaction of the tracker you are considering.
By carefully assessing these factors, you can choose a vehicle tracker that effectively meets your security and tracking needs.

Which vehicle Immobiliser solution is right for you?
When selecting a vehicle Immobiliser, consider the following key factors to ensure you choose the right one for your needs:
1. Type of Immobiliser
CanBus / Digital: This type of Immobiliser integrates into the vehicle’s electronics and immobilises the vehicle automatically every time you switch off the vehicle. You have to disarm the immobiliser by using the factory buttons that came with your vehicle to enter a pin sequence before you can start the vehicle or drive.
No Tag No Start: This type of immobiliser requires a key fob (tag) to be within a certain range of the vehicle to allow the vehicle to start. This method is effective and hands free with no actions needed from the driver, just simply carry a tag with you and your vehicle will start and drive away!
Remote Immobilisation: This type of immobiliser requires a tracker to operate, therefore comes with subscription costs. Simply send a command to the tracker from your tracking app to immobilise the vehicle. The most cost effective way is to use a fleet tracker on the asset platform.
2. Requirements
Insurance approval: Check to see whether your insurance approves of the chosen product - this doesn’t always mean its the best product on the market though.
Multiple Users: Depending on how many people drive or have access to the vehicle will have an impact on which product you choose.
Company Vehicle: If you have a Company vehicle that is driven by multiple drivers or you don’t want it driven on weekends, you still have options!
3. Price and Subscription Fees
Evaluate the initial cost versus the ongoing subscription fees for accessing tracking services if required.
4. User Reviews and Ratings
Finally, research user reviews and ratings. Feedback from current users can provide valuable insights on the performance, reliability, and overall satisfaction of the immobiliser you are considering.
By carefully assessing these factors, you can choose a vehicle immobiliser that effectively meets your security needs.
